Robots, AI en Chatbots betekenen een grote revolutie voor business, de samenleving en ons persoonlijke leven. Zelfsturende auto’s, Siri en filmsuggesties in Netflix: kunstmatige intelligentie is overal. Steeds vaker worden computers ingezet voor het nemen van beslissingen of het zelfstandig uitvoeren van taken waarvoor intelligentie nodig is. Vervangt de robot de mens? En is dat erg? Hoe kan deze technologie wel als menselijk worden ervaren in plaats van dat ze soms nog onhandig is, slecht luistert of ze je niet snapt. De animatiefilm The Incredibles, de game BioShock, Marvin the Paranoid Android uit de Hitchhikers Guide en de startup Prolody zijn voorbeelden van hoe we dat het beste kunnen bereiken.

Sensoren om het verkeer beter te begeleiden; een stad die haar afval volledig hergebruikt; slimme straatverlichting en oversteekpaden: steden innoveren zich steeds meer tot ‘smart cities’. Toenemende technologie in de stad verandert het publieke domein steeds verder in een digitale interface. Peter-Paul Verbeek stelt dat we nieuwe technologieën niet moeten vrezen maar er slim mee moeten leren leven en vragen moeten stellen zoals: hoe willen we elkaar ontmoeten in de stad? Hoe veranderen deze technologieën onze ervaring van de openbare ruimte? Hoe zorgen we ervoor dat burgers de technologie beter leren herkennen?

He’ll cover applications across industries, tips on creative development, and give the audience a brief glimpse into the future.
